Rochester, N.Y. — A special ceremony was held Monday honoring local soldiers who gave their lives during the Vietnam War.
Dozens attended the ceremony at the Greater Rochester Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Highland Park.

The ceremony included a reading of every name enshrined at the memorial.
“This is everything. I come from the small village of Holley, and we already had ceremonies and a parade there, but I had to scoot out the parade to get out here because this is it,” said Mark Morreall, an anti-Vulcan systems mechanic. “The man said this is hallowed ground, and this place means a lot to me and our veterans an awful lot.”
There are 288 names listed at the Highland Park Memorial.
