Jaw-dropping Masters 2025 food and drink prices at Augusta with £1.10 sandwiches

From the stunning Augusta National course to the luxurious green jacket prize for the winner, there are few sporting events with more of a luxurious feel than the Masters. It’s probably the most iconic annual event on the golfing calendar, with fans from across the world flocking to Georgia year after year to catch a glimpse of the tournament.

But unlike other tournaments, patrons at the Augusta National Course won’t have to break the bank to remain fed and watered during the week-long event. That’s because tournament organisers have taken the admirable decision to ensure visitors are fed instead of fleeced during their time at Augusta.

So much so, some menu items - including the egg salad and pimento cheese sandwiches - have had their prices frozen ever since 2002! Anyone hoping to sample the trademark Augusta delights this year will only have to pay £1.10 ($1.50) for the pleasure...

At less than a fiver a beer, it’s impossible to complain and it’s all part of a long-standing tradition to keep golf-goers with a smile on their face during a visit to Augusta. Former Augusta National chairman Clifford Roberts said back in 1976: “We believe that one of the reasons the Masters is popular with patrons of the game is because they can obtain good food and drink at reasonable prices.”

It’s in sharp contrast to similarly prestigious sporting events from around the world, with pints of beer at Wimbledon having cost north of £8 at last year’s championships. Whereas a salad at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix set punters back over £15!

It comes ahead of what promises to be a stunning weekend of Masters action, with reigning champion Scottie Scheffler at the top of the favourites list. The American, who recently underwent surgery after picking up a freak injury, has endured a slow start to 2025, but looked close to his best at last week’s Houston Open.

Should Scheffler show any signs of weakness at Augusta, Rory McIlroy - without a major in over 10 years - will be waiting in the wings to capitalise. The Irishman has two tournament wins to his name already in 2025 and is among the favourites to don the green jacket this weekend.
