BARRY COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) - A woman from Arkansas wanted for a death investigation was found by first responders in the woods near Cassville over the weekend.

According to the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, on April 4, authorities went to serve a search warrant at a house near Cassville for a drug overdose investigation in Arkansas. The person they were looking for, Jamie Walker, was not there.

On April 5, dispatchers got a call that two people were lost in the woods near Cassville. Dispatchers identified one of the lost people as Walker. Firefighters with the Cassville Fire Protection District worked with other first responders to locate the two people.

“Luckily, the victims still had cell service and were able to open the link sent to them, confirming their location,” the fire district said.

Several first responders assisted in the search and were able to safely locate Walker and the other person.

The sheriff’s office says Walker had a warrant out of Benton County, Arkansas, for aggravated death by delivery. She is in the Barry County Jail waiting to be sent back to Benton County.
