Minnesota Governor Tim Walz holds town hall in Lorain
Lorain, Ohio (WOIO) - Minnesota Governor Tim Walz spoke at Lorain High School in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District, to highlight what he says is the Republicans’ absence in their districts.
Ohio’s fifth district representative is Republican Bob Latta.
Latta’s spokesperson, Ashley Juhn, released the following statement to 19 News about the Governor speaking in Northeast Ohio:
“The congressman appreciates the opportunity to continue meeting and speaking with constituents – including providing timely responses to their inquiries through calls, emails, and letters – as he has done throughout his time in public service. He has also held countless meetings with constituents, including holding more than 130 Courthouse Conference one-on-ones with constituents so he can answer their questions, discuss issues, and help them solve problems with federal agencies. However, he will not provide a platform for orchestrated disruptions to create media spectacles,”
“We’re grateful to Governor Walz for joining us for the People’s Town Hall,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chair Elizabeth Walters. “Republicans are continuing to ignore their constituents, but Democrats are stepping up to fill the gap because we know Ohioans deserve to be heard.”
